Luke House  Community Meal Program

Additional team members are needed to prepare food for the Community Meal Program operated by Luke House. (310 S. Ingersoll St.) Immanuel prepares a meal four times a year. Team members are notified of what item they should prepare - this might be lettuce for a salad, cake for a dessert, a gallon of milk and some butter, or a batch of the featured hot meal. Items are brought to the church kitchen and refrigerated until the time of delivery to Luke House.

Volunteers are also needed to help deliver the food. Food is delivered at 4:00p.m. Remaining delivery dates for this year are:
* June 29
*August 30
* November 29

If you would like to help, contact a member of the board of social ministry: (Stephanie Gillis, Clare Gensch, Ann Grote, Andrea Peterson, or Shirley Susan.)

The Community Meal Program has been serving Madison's hungry for 25 years. The program serves lunch at St. Paul's Catholic Church Monday through Thursday and dinner at Luke house Sunday through Thursday. Individuals in sponsoring groups, which include 52 area faith communities, prepare and serve the food. On an average day, 230 are served for lunch and 200 for dinner. Volunteers and guests eat to-gether in an atmosphere of mutual respect and hospi-tality.
