More thanks from The Road Home! Thank you to the cookie makers, those who
carried all of the guests' bags and cots to load the truck, those who cleaned
the rooms and the kitchen, the truck driver who rented and drove the truck,
and those who are doing laundry for The Road Home. Thanks also to the Kiwanas
for donating books for the children. This past week required the work of many
people from Immanuel, Plymouth UCC, St. Paul's Lutheran, Messiah Lutheran, Christ
Memorial, and City Church as well as some community volunteers. There are about
65 people involved in our week of hosting! Here is a note from one of our guests
and her son: We would like to thank the congregation for all the support
and hospitality you've shown us this week! God bless and we appreciate what
you've done. Thank you.

Simply Giving Program offered by Vanco
Immanuel Lutheran Church participates in the Simply Giving Program offered by
Vanco. Would you find it helpful to
have your offerings taken from your bank account as you do other transactions?
At no cost to the congregation? Thrivent Financial for Lutherans sponsors a
program called "Simply Giving" which offers this service for people who wish
to have offerings transferred electronically to Immanuel. For those who travel,
this is helpful for keeping up with pledged offerings. Please
see, and fell free to use, the Authorization form - (PDF)
or (DOC).
Just complete and turn into the church office.

Remember Our Neighborhood Pantries
Donations are needed for the WilMar food pantry and for the Personal
Essentials Pantry at Zion Lutheran. Canned vegetables, fruit, tuna, and dried
goods such as rice, macaroni and cheese, beans, and noodles are all good food
donations for WilMar. The Personal Essentials Pantry can use bar soap, shampoo,
deoderant, dish detergent, cleaning items. Items can be placed in the grocery
carts located in the church narthex.
Social Ministry Seeks Cash Donations Need knows no season. Requests
for assistance continue to come to the church office. A small social ministry
fund is available for pastor to use when they wish to assist someone in an
emergency situation. Funds are very low. Donations to the social ministry
fund should be made out to Immanuel but earmarked for "social ministry."
