Begin Your Lutheran World Relief (LWR) Kits Now! This year's box car
loading for Lutheran World Relief comes early in October - Saturday, October

advantage of the various school supply sales.) When making kits, follow the
directions exactly - do not add, subtract or substitute items. Bring completed
items to church by September 26th

Thrivent Simply Giving Program Would you find it helpful to have your
offerings taken from your bank account as you do other transactions? At no cost
to the congregation? Thrivent Financial for Lutherans sponsors a program called
"Simply Giving" which offers this service for people who wish to have offerings
transferred electronically to Immanuel. For those who travel, this is helpful
is keeping up with pledged offerings and it will keep you from having to make
up the difference later. Immanuel is a participant in the "Simply Giving" program.
A copy of the enrollment form is enclosed in the newsletter. If you have any
questions, contact the church office. Thanks, Jeff Fedorowicz
The Lutheran Witness Like several of Immanuel's parishioners, if you
would enjoy receiving the "Lutheran Witness" monthly publication at home, this
is your chance to have your subscription submitted. The cost is $15.00 for the
year. You will receive eleven magazines (June and July are combined). If you
are interested please drop a check off at the church office made out to Immanuel.
The Deadline is August 8th. You will receive your first copy in September.
Remember Our Neighborhood Pantries This Summer Donations are needed for
the WilMar food pantry and for the Personal Essentials Pantry at Zion Lutheran.
Summer months can be slow donation months, so both pantries could use your help.
Canned vegetables, fruit, tuna, and dried goods such as rice, macaroni and cheese,
beans, and noodles are all good food donations for WilMar. The Personal Essentials
Pantry can use bar soap, shampoo, deoderant, dish detergent, cleaning items.
Items can be placed in the grocery carts located in the church narthex.
Social Ministry Seeks Cash Donations Need knows no season. Requests for
assistance continue to come to the church office. A small social ministry fund
is available for pastor and deaconess to use when they wish to assist someone
in an emergency situation. Funds are very low. Donations to the social ministry
fund should be made out to Immanuel but earmarked for "social ministry."
