9:00 a.m. Communion
In Baptism, God freely offers us grace and
lovingly establishes a new community.
In Holy Communion those who come to the table receive in bread and wine the
body and blood of their Lord. This gift is itself the real presence of God's
forgiveness and mercy, nourishing believers in union with their Lord and with
each other. Holy Communion is the sacramental union of the Body and Blood
of Christ with the bread and wine. All Christians who come trusting that this
is Christ’s table of forgiveness for sinners are welcome. Both
the common cup and individual glasses are offered. Communion trays include
grape juice in the center for those unable to drink wine. Baptized
Christians who have received their first communion and share this sacramental
understanding are welcomed to the Table of the Lord.
Our Worship is Focused on the Meal
Because the "center of action" in the Divine Service is the Table,
we encourage all worship-pers to move as close "to the action" as
possible. Please sit toward the front on both sides of the aisle and also
fill the chairs on either side of the chancel platform. In
this way we may worship together as a family gathered around the Table of
the Lord."
A Child-Friendly Congregation We encourage parents to bring their children
to worship. We also know that the service can become a bit tedious to toddlers.
In the narthex, you will find a basket labeled Kid's Stuff for Worship. It
contains age-appropriate items to help keep your little one occupied while
you worship. Ask an usher or a greeter for assistance. Let your children enjoy
these items during worship and return them to the narthex after the service.
If you need a break, there is an unattended nursery on the lower level. Take
the elevator to level B. The first room to your left is equipped with cribs
and other nursery items.
